My favorite place in the entire world. As a chocolate lover, I recommend the chocolate chip pancakes (with the chocolate batter) and the hot chocolate (that comes with amazing whipped cream and chocolate chips). The bacon is amazing- thick slices. Be sure to call ahead before you get there so the wait isn't as long. There's always a wait, no matter the day of the week. About an hour if you don't call ahead on weekends, and 20-30 minutes on weekdays.

pretty basic and classic american breakfast. overall vast menu. pancakes, waffles, sandwiches etc. if you really want some bacon and eggs and someone asking you if you want coffee every 5 minutes, this is the spot. hold's true to its name!

Hands down the best breakfast spot in Eden Prairie. Once you sit down, there is nothing but great food and friendly service. The food literally came out only 5ish minutes after ordering. Apple pancakes get a lot of hype , but I'm a bigger fan of the banana pancakes with the marmalade style syrup. Hash browns are also on point. You definetly get great value for whatever you pay for though. The only con is that everybody in Eden Prairie seems to come here for brunch so be prepared to wait. If you don't want to wait as long, be sure to call in ahead of time. You get put on a shorter fast list when you come in.

This place is amazing. So not confuse it with IHOP as I did for some time and didn't venture into this space. As a breakfast place it gets very busy so call ahead. It is worth the wait if you have time to wait. The food is really wonderful and a wide variety. Amazing hot chocolate. If you haven't been here go here.

The food , service , atmosphere was worth the wait! There quite busy on weekends and especially holidays . I like how you can wait in your car or outside and they will call your name over the intercom . You can even call ahead . Overall this place is the go to brunch spot ! I choose this place over Denny's , Perkins , IHOP any day! If your looking for very nice, put together, delicious food place this is it !

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a very long time and it was always super busy but this time we called ahead so we only had to wait about 5 minutes. I got the western omlette with pancakes and my husband got the bacon pancakes with eggs and hash browns. Everything was as good as we heard and the portions are huge! I could only eat half if the omelette. The pancakes we very good! We plan on going back soon!!

Everyone loves OPH. You would be insane not to. Great, thick-cut bacon cooked to order, huge pancakes and eggs any way you like 'em are just the basics. You can't go wrong with an omelet, since you will have leftovers for a second meal and then some. You also get a trio of pancakes with your omelet, and can sub for an additional charge to try one of their more adventurous options. I love the 49ers, chocolate chip pancakes (chocolate batter PLUS chocolate chips = divine) or the strawberry stack. If you aren't an egg person, their fresh berry waffle is incredible and filling. Think masses of fresh berries topped with a generous serving of whipped cream. Yum. Lastly, the coffee is incredible, and the servers will never let your cup go dry. Seriously, I challenge you to get through a cup. As my husband says, he always leaves shaking from the caffeine since there is simply no way to tell just how much you have consumed (this is a good problem in my book.)

Great place for breakfast. Often do meetings there. They also have gluten-free options available which is nice. Just be sure to check their hours as they are not open past lunch

It was a brisk autumn morning, and I wanted nothing more than to crawl back into bed with a big snuggly blanket. Mornings are not my favorite time of day and especially since I operate on Cali time, I was definitely a grumpy gal when I woke up two hours earlier than normal. But.. we were in town for a wedding, so we decided to meet up with some friends for brunch. I think this is THE breakfast spot in Eden Prairie. On multiple accounts, we ran into various members in the wedding party at this restaurant; uncoordinated. I can see why it's a local favorite though. It's cozy and charming.. everything I would imagine a nice Midwestern brunch institution to be. It just might be worth it to wake up early for brunch here.. We were in town for 4 days, and we had brunch here twice. Both times, we were welcomed and served by the same waitress. She's such a sweetheart, gave awesome recommendations, attentive, and made us Minnesota noobs feel very welcomed. The food was simply delicious. Large portions! Especially if you get their infamous Apple Pancake. That thing was a monstrosity! The boyfriend got it and barely made a dent into it. Couldn't even finish it with 4 people picking at it! It you have a big appetite and a major sweet tooth, this is definitely the one for you. It's like eating a fresh baked apple pie! And of course they have the staples like eggs benedict, scrambles, omelets, waffles and pancakes (duh). I got the Swedish pancakes topped with lingonberries and I absolutely loved them. Not a lot of people like Swedish pancakes because they are really thin and taste almost crepe-like. But it's not as heavy as a regular pancake, so I'm happy with that. Now to save the best part for last... GET A SIDE OF BACON!! No matter what you order, get a side of their thick sliced bacon. It is seriously amazing! Slightly crispy but chewy for the most part and cured right to perfection. I'm salivating just thinking about it... I'll just end with that note. GET THE BACON!

Best breakfast in town! The only downside is...it's the best breakfast in town so if you arrive during the busy hours (10-12 on Sat/Sun), expect a long wait. OPH's Strawberry crepes and apple pancake are my favorite...and don't forget their thick cut smoked bacon!

I would have given it 5 stars, but the only reason for missing a star is it was too crowded. Oh well, it happens when a restaurant is excellent, has regular customer base, good menu, well-priced, without any good competition in the area, friendly staff and is family friendly! I would surely go there again, but will eat a waiting snack before I go there for my breakfast! However, their service is very fast to compensate for the wait, on the flip side one can view getting a check before finishing their breakfast as being bit pushy. But there is ways wait on the weekends, so it's understandable.

My husband and our two friends were in town for the Garth concert. We stopped here on out way out to the airport. What an awesome find! Everyone loved their food--from the pancakes to the bacon, everything was amazing. My friend said they were the best hashbrowns he's ever had. Great food, even better service. Highly recommended.

Came here after a very long drive from Michigan. We arrived on Saturday around 10:00am so needless to say the place was packed. We had to wait 45 minutes, but the staff takes your cell number and texts you when the table is ready. The hostess was very friendly and the waitress was excellent. We decided to try their special, a chicken sausage with eggs and pancakes and another special lemon cake pancakes with a side of bacon. The bacon was nice and thick, could taste the smoke in every bite. The lemon cake pancakes were wonderful and the chicken sausage had the taste of a homemade breakfast!

I didn't realize this was a national franchise; I had visited the Madison, WI OPH a few times - was shocked to see one in Eden Prairie. + Prompt seating + Friendly server + Fast initial coffee fill + Eggs with ham were well prepared - Omelettes were overcooked - Their "special" bacon isn't all that special - Server forgot our toast and an order of pancakes; never followed-up with us - Coffee refills were sparse

I went there a couple of weeks ago on a late saturday morning. I was with my extended family of about 15 people. one of the kids didn't get their hushbrowns. the waiter was trying to say that someone else might have gotten the kid's Hush browns. We had to tell him that those who had Hbrowns recevied except for the kid. I mean come on, we dropped like $150 on food, we are not going to scam you over a damn hush brown, it is stupid for them to even bring it up. Pancakes were out of this world, best i ever had, hush browns were great, i had the spanish omelette as well, it is a really big portion and was pretty good. Unless you are a construction worker, i would suggest you share your meal with someone else. Place was crowded and the service was slow. i'm giving 3 stars only because their service was not up to par with their great food.

Krystyn and I were up early last Friday morning and both had the day off of work, so we decided we'd go and give the Original Pancake House (549 Prairie Center Drive, Eden Prairie) a whirl. After reading reviews from other Yelpers we figured this place would give us a really good breakfast. This is a GREAT experience. First off, the restaurant is very well-decorated and contemporary. It's comfortable and makes you feel at home. There are so many "pancake" houses out there that are dirty, poorly run and just plain uninviting. This is not the case with OPH. Very nice, clean restaurant with really friendly servers. This is definitely not a "dive breakfast" location. Plus, it wasn't terribly busy for a Friday morning which is good. The coffee was as expected - strong and flavorful (this is Minnesota, after all). I ordered the Eggs Benedict because I'm always a huge fan of this dish. This version was good. The eggs weren't overdone and the portion size was just right. Krystyn had the Santa Fe omelet and told me it was really good. The prices are a little on the high end, but really for the service and food quality it is worth it. If you haven't tried Original Pancake House, give it a shot. We recommend this place for sure!

Stopped in here over the weekend while in the Cities, had a great breakfast and really enjoyed it. I would advise anybody who's considering going here to call and get their name on the list so they don't have to wait as long. We waited quite a while and numerous people who came after us were seated before us. When we finally asked about that, they told us it was because people had called ahead. The food was phenomenal and I will definitely go here again whenever I'm in the area.

Food/Drink: After a long time follower of the Edina location, friends of mine were headed here for a lunch, glad the menu's the same. Everyone did their ordering which is a great selection of omlettes, eggs, meat and pancake options. I went with a Meat Lovers with egg whites (I mean really, eating four eggs in one seating can't be healthy, right?) and pepper jack cheese. It's not some fancy cooking school omlette, it's an omlette a blue collar guy (surprising the same color of my shirt today) would eat and be happy. Coffee was never ending and I was happy for that. One of my buddies ordered some sort of caramel banana french toast concoction which didn't look half bad either. Ambiance: I personally like the Edina location better. Just more woodsy and feels, well shucks, more "original". If you're looking for that or it's your first time, head over to that location, but beware of the wait. If you're past the hype, this location in the burbs will do just fine. Either way, these places are so popular their waiting area is decent size and almost always has someone there. Service: Good. Coffee's never empty and if she'll be right back, she means it. Our food arrived hot and she delivered our accompaniments (big long word for syrup and butter) in advance so there was no real wait to dig in. After a few bites, she circled around to make sure we had everything and then at the end asked about how to do the bill (split it or together). Overall: If you're looking for a good old fashioned hearty breakfast, look no further. Some of the other brunch joints I rate pretty high also, but each has it's own positives. Here, it's good big omlettes (get your protein on) and a decent coffee with kudos service. Be aware, most any of the locations you go most any of the time, you're going to have a wait so plan ahead whatever you do.

It has probably the best omelette i have ever eaten. But the only problem is during weekends. It is super busy. The service is extremely poor. We and my wife had once ordered just 2 things and it took almost 45 mins for the order to arrive. But the food is amazing.

Would have given this place 5 stars but there is one specific person who truly does not know what she's doing. She's an old lady with short gray hair and wears glasses. She works up at the front. She is always confused, never pays attention and can never figure things out. We've been there enough to know she shouldn't be working there. Not sure why she's still there. Because of that lady, I would rate it no stars just because of her and only her but because we like the other employees and the food, I am giving it 4 stars overall. One time, my wife walked up to the counter and said HI and that old lady never acknowledged my wife. She had just helped someone right before my wife but as soon as my wife stepped up, that old lady had her head down the entire time trying to figure something out. My wife was patiently waiting for that lady to finish up and my wife was certain that lady saw her. Let's just say we were ignored for quite some time until another lady came up to the front and asked if we've been helped which we said no. At that moment, the old lady looked up and said, oh my gosh, I didn't even know you were standing there. How do you NOT know someone is standing right in front of you? You work at the front. Your job is supposed to be helping customers and you should always be attentive and know that someone may be there. Most people would sense that someone is standing there. Then there was another time when that old lady called our name and then told us that it wasn't us and for us to sit back down because someone else got there before we did (not true in this case because we got there first and they were not on the wait list whereas we were). She never did call our name. When another hostess called our name, that old lady heard only because she had recognized our name and told us that she tried calling our name but no one came up. The hostess seemed rather annoyed with that old lady as well. Every time we've been there, she always has to call for help because she can never figure things out at the front, especially the register. Besides that, the food and service is great! Everyone else is very helpful. I recommend coming here instead of the Edina one.

30 to 60 minute wait on Sunday to be seated. Rush, rush, rush. Huge portions. Average food. I don't get the excitement? I could barely walk for 4 hours after gorging myself...

Delicious, consistent and there's always leftovers. That having been said it doesn't evolve much, gets a little pricey and as everyone knows IT IS PACKED ON WEEKENDS. Still the best breakfast around and a great place to take friends for the gigantic omelettes.

We loved our second visit to Original Pancake House in Eden Prairie. Thank goodness we got there early (7:35 am) on a Sat! By the time we left at 8:45, it was completely packed! We were a party of five- my parents, two kids and me. There was something perfect for everyone. The kids loved the mini49er with thin pancakes and they also loved the pulpy, freshly-squeezed oj. My parents both got omelettes with pancakes- an enormous feast that neither of them could quite finish. I had a delicious mocha with plenty of whipped cream and the corned beef hash with eggs and gluten free pancakes. Wow! It was very good hash- though not the best I've ever had... It ranked in the top 5. But the best part was the side of bacon- that was an epic applewood smoked slab that can even now make my mouth water. They were perfect for a breakfast with kids- plenty of ambient noise to make any disruptions almost unnoticeable and a VERY detailed coloring sheet that they didn't finish the entire time we were there. Another truly fantastic element was the amazing gluten free menu.... Pancakes, waffles and French toast- all gluten free... Wow!

How does one put words to the magic that is OPH? It is a difficult task, to be sure. First things first: you should ask to sit in Zack's section. The man is a Class A server, in every sense of the term. He is top-notch at what he does, and he is consistently cheerful and fun to talk to. For that matter, the entire team at this OPH is very pleasant. They seem to truly enjoy working together at OPH. I recommend you order up the Meat Lover's Omelette. This thing is massive, and it also includes a short stack of the most delicious pancakes in the Twin Cities. Also, spend the extra bit of coin to upgrade to either the Chocolate Chip Pancakes or the Pecan Pancakes. You will not be disappointed. They are fluffy and flavorful. The Choc Chip pancakes are essentially a dessert. The coffee here flows like salmon upstream in the Colorado River. I probably average about 6 cups of coffee here each visit, because they fill you up about every 6 minutes. And it's tasty, tasty coffee. I am also a big fan of the Huevos Rancheros (add the chorizo, too). The portions here are generous, so plan to take a box out with you (think: two meals for the price of one). Other items with which you can't go wrong: hashbrowns - a massive pile of potatoes. Yum. Bacon - my friend Austin orders this every visit. It's done to perfection, and thick-sliced.

5 stars, obviously. Our food was fantastic and was very fast. We were in and out in less than an hour. Our server, Renee, was AWESOME! She made good suggestions and was on top of refilling our coffees and waters. Her face made me happy!!

My roommate and I love OPH. It gets very, very busy on Weekend mornings, and we often look for open seats in the bar area. Otherwise we call ahead to put our names on the waiting list. Our favorite servers are Ashley, who is spunky and hilarious, and Heather. I usually get an omelette with pumpkin pancakes. Fluffy, filling, and delicious are appropriate words to describe both. The chai latte is fabulous as well. Definitely a place I will return to again and again.

I would give OPH a solid 3.5, but for the sake of this review, I will round it up to a four. We called ahead to find out the wait time, and drove over. We waited the ten minutes that they quoted and were seated. Our server greeted us promptly. I notice that the service here is astute, but not friendly. I ordered the grapefruit juice - which I love. They fresh squeeze the orange and grapefruit juice in the mornings. I seriously ate mine with a spoon there was so much fresh pulp! Delish! Mom got a sante fe omelet, which was huge. She asked for pumpkin pancakes and our server said it'd be an additional $1. (It was $1.50 on the bill). I got one buttermilk pancake and the corned beef hash. My pancake came out with Mom's breakfast, but was told it would be another minute on the CBH. I finished my pancake and one of moms, and then my server said it had been brought out to another table. I waited 5 more minutes and it came out. The manager offered without being asked to take it off the bill which I appreciated. It was pretty good, garlicy and oniony to boot. I like this place for breakfast. Know that wait times are a little longer than Perkins, but the food is well worth it.

Just OK. We had 5 people tried lunch and breakfast items, all were just average. One person said the burger was flavorless; another person said pancakes were burned on 1 side; others said their food was just OK. My omelette was a bit undercooked. Restaurant was busy during lunch hour on a weekday. Service was good but food didn't impress us. Don't think we will visit this place anymore during lunch break.

I love coming to this place after a night of working at target. It's good quality food and the wait staff are great. The only thing I caution is if you come during peak meal times you could be in for a wait especially on weekends but the food is worth it

Good breakfast food but can get pricey if you want any of the sides. All bread-based breakfasts (waffles/French toast) don't come with anything and sides are $5+. Still delicious but just a side note. Always plan to wait 30-45 minutes for a table during normal breakfast/brunch hours as it will be very busy.

We have hit this place up for breakfast and lunch a few times. Never seems to disappoint. Huge tasty omelettes; really good hot cakes, the BLT's are a great lunch, hash browns we had were crispy and tasty. Sure we will stop in again for more.

I absolutely love this place. They have the best corn beef hash. I always leave feeling satisfied. This always happens when I go to any original pancake house. However This location happens to be in Eden Prairie where I live so it's convenient. My husband and I typically come here once in a couple months to get our American breakfast fix. If you call in before hand they will put your name on the list which has an advantage to those whos doing the regular walk-in. I have never had a bad experience with any of the servers. Their coffee is awesome and I wish I knew where they got their coffee beans from. They have fresh squeezed orange juice. Their omelettes are super huge so don't plan ordering anything additional unless you eat a lot in general. The place is always clean and very packed on Sundays so I would recommend trying to go in the week days. Also, they close around 3 o'clock because they only serve breakfast. Their prices are a bit steeper than your normal IHOP or Denny's but again you are getting service and a clean, wholesome experience.

My gf and I make a point of coming here at least once a month for breakfast. It's usually packed on the weekends, moreso now that the Ihop nearby closed, but since we sit at the counter we can usually get a spot pretty quick. The waitress who works the counter (sorry I don't recall her name at the moment) is pretty fantastic, though all the staff is consistently wonderful. Everything we've ordered has been delicious (favorites include the coconut pancakes, the apple pancake, and the eggs benedict) and prompt. Honestly, I would eat here every weekend if I had the chance.

The service was great. Our waitress was attentive, but not invasive. Considering how busy the restaurant was, they really managed to keep things in order. My partner Chris purchased the Caramel banana french toast. He loved it. I tried a couple bites and it was very good. I ordered the Chorizo scramble. It was mushy/runny and lacked flavor. I had to request tabasco sauce to give it some hot spice. I've never had a chorizo dish that lacks heat. I don't recommend that dish at all. I'll stick to pancakes next time, because they really do those well. The decor is average, but not horrible.

My family and I ordered off the gluten free menu and half of the food served to us was the gluten-containing versions. After unknowingly consuming these, I experienced adverse health reactions. While our server was apologetic, she asked what will happen after consuming gluten-containing food. I am never comfortable discussing personal health issues with complete strangers in a crowded restaurant. Also, she offered to take the gluten-containing food off of our bill. While a nice gesture, it's insulting to think you health is valued at a couple of orders of $10 pancakes. Celiacs and those with gluten sensitivity beware, I would not recommend this restaurant.

While visiting Minneapolis we were brought here by a local who raved of this place. We went on Sunday morning so the wait was about 30 minutes.. BUT WORTH IT. They had yummy coffee for us while we waited. The staff was friendly and fast. My friend and shared an omelette and banana pancakes with a tropical, pineapple syrup. the omelette was sooo cheesy and warm and the pancakes were so fresh. We also got a side of thick cut bacon which was delicious but not too greasy like most places. The waitress always kept all of our glasses full with water and coffee. I highly recommend this spot if you want a delicious breakfast in Minneapolis!

Well, my pancakes were delicious due to the awesome syrup they serve here. My hubby loved everything on his plate as well as some on mine. In fact, I think he ate the actual plate. Here is why it isn't four or five stars. They make their corned beef hash with onions as an ingredient and that totally threw off the corned beef flavor. Okay, fine, now I know not to order the corned beef hash. But the other star deduction is because my scrambled eggs weren't unless scrambled is the new way to say over easy. For some reason, this is a common problem for me that's a joke between family members. Most of the time I can roll with it and laugh it off but since I was less than pleased with the onion in the hash, I wasn't a happy camper for the egg mistake. *This* is what the hubby ate from my plate...this time. Even when I go to BK where I can get things my way, so they say, I don't even bother to try. I mean, how hard is it to take off a tomato and some raw onions? I'm not gonna ask someone to do that for me. Unless, of course, it's the BK at 212 and EP Drive where they always get my order wrong, each and every time. But that's another review. OPH was very nicely, generically decorated and that I like but I didn't order it so that explains why it got done.

Best bacon ever and the Dutch Oven pancake (lemon and powdered sugar)...wow! We only go about once every 4-8 weeks because of the long weekend waits (and the lady who usually runs the hostess desk is a bit rude every time we see her for years). Love the atmosphere and try to go during off hours - wish it was open for dinner!

I was at Original Pancake House last week for breakfast meeting with my manager. Since I had heavy breakfast on Tuesday, I decided to have something light and I tried the Swedish pancake. It came with 4 different sauces and the pancake was very thin - Maybe I should try the waffle next time. Service was very good and I would come back again to try other item in the menu. The staff told me that the first Original Pancake House is in Portland, OR.

My original experience w/ OHP was in Chicago more than 20 years ago. It was then that I had my first exposure to the "Apple Pancake"--a mouthwatering blend of tart apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, butter and pancake. As good as it was, what made it particularly memorable was the sheer enormity of it--of such stature that you should earn a t-shirt if you complete it. Fast forward 20 years, I've long since moved back to Minneapolis, but am visiting Chicago. While there, we decide to look up the breakfast restaurant whose name we'd long forgotten. Fortunately we find it and visit. As we are seated, I'm fairly excited about the opportunity to be able to re-live my once in a lifetime breakfast experience from two decades prior. As we are deciding what to order, I flip the menu over to read their list of locations--only to find there is one a couple miles from our house in MSP. Needless to say, I've not waited another 20 years, having hit OHP in Minnesota 5-6 times in the last year. I can only vouch for one menu item, since I order the same thing every time, but why mess with perfection?

Yum yum yum!! Best breakfast I've ever had (other than my moms of course!) long wait but worth every minute of it. Huge location with an abundance of staff and seating. I had the chocolate chip pancakes and hash browns. SO DELICIOUS! Just do yourself a favor and go try it sometime! I'll give you a tip of going early before the mass rush!

Love meeting here with friends for brunch! Ashley is our favorite waitress so we always make a point of trying to sit in her section. She is constantly refilling cups and checking in on us without hovering. My favorite thing to order is the Apple Pancake or the 49er flapjacks. Yummy! It's a huge hit overall and deserves the 5/5 stars!

My favorite breakfast place in EP! It is always super busy on the weekends. I think their breakfast food is better than the other stuff. Really good omelets and pancakes.

This place is terrific. About perfect, except slightly high on typical breakfast pricing. The service is friendly, the hostess engaging and informative. Recommend... Swedish Pancakes with Lindonberry and a 1/2 stack of potato pancakes. With real maple syrup - it's heaven! The bacon is terrific - almost too thick to bite. My son had the salmon scramble and loved it. I don't give 5 stars willy nilly, but this place earns it. It is a bit pricey for most folks to be a weekly thing, but if I lived near one I'd eat there regularly. We are staying at nearby hotel and will eat here tomorrow before heading out.

Everything is yummy!!! Great breakfast joint. We have never had a bad meal here, we've tried about 1/2 the items on the breakfast menu. The buckwheat pancakes and thick slice bacon are the hubby's favorites! Beware the omelets are HUGE, we have to share those.

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile, but wont drive all the way to Egypt just for breakfast. Luckily, we were headed to Valley Fair today and this place was on the way. We got here at about noon on a Sunday and the place was packed to the rafters, about 30 people waiting outside to be seated and at least as many inside waiting as well. I don't have time for this, and decided to leave. I can't give the place a bad review because I didn't eat here, but based on the line they are docked one star. We decided to head to this location because we thought it would be less busy than the Edina location, but found out that while people from Edina may be cake eaters, people in EP are definitely pan-cake eaters. They have an insatiable appetite for cookie cutter homes, Vikings football, and pancakes. Never get in between an EPer and his pancakes, it will not turn out good for you.

I've been here many times; both in Nevada and Minnesota. The food is always amazing. I love the Dutch baby. The hash browns are also amazing. They are crispy on the outside, and soft in the center. Another huge advantage is fresh squeezed orange juice :)

My wife and I eat here about twice/month as we meet our son and his family for breakfast on Sunday mornings. We are not unique in this as the Sunday morning crowd is replete with extended family groups. There is usually a wait but you can call ahead and there is a nice waiting area with free coffee. I think the food here is outstanding. They do a particularly good job with scrambles (my favorite is the chorizo). Scrambled eggs at restaurants are often cooked too fast over too much heat and consequently are dry and rubbery (if you like your scrambled eggs over cooked better let them know). Their scrambled eggs come out moist and soft. The cinnamon French toast is another favorite of mine. The thick sliced bacon and hash browns are excellent. I am not a fan of their souffle omelets as I prefer a more traditional omelet but that is a matter of my own tastes. Others in our group like the omelets here and the crepes are also favorites. The staff seems to be recruited based on politeness, energy and cheerfulness. Service is fast and food arrives hot and in a hurry. Management is very much in evidence and usually drops by the table to check and see how things are. Regular portions are large but they are happy to split an order and many selections are offered with a half order option. All in all the breakfasts here are better than a lot of more pretentious places that serve Sunday brunch and the prices and service are better also.

Good breakfast, nice restaurant, friendly staff. Good all around breakfast stop. It can get a bit expensive especially if you add OJ to your breakfast. Not that much different from other breakfast specific joints, but I prefer the breakfast dives with a cheaper price tag myself. If you are here on a weekday morning, you can usually get seated right away, I've never been on a weekend, but I assume it gets pretty busy. We always sit in the new side room, which is kind of an odd design, but the bar is nice and the TVs are always on to a decent selection of ESPNs. All around good food, friendly staff, and worth visiting again.

Great service, ask for Ashley! Don't wait in line. Sit at the breakfast bar. Ashley is one of the best waitresses I've ever had!

Great restaurant, great food. Busy but they manage to seat you quickly so little wait time. A must try place, it's so good.

The location is in a strip mall right across from the EP Library and next to a Dunn Brothers Coffee (which by the way has the most comfortable couches and decent coffee with free refills). It's very popular so always very busy, mostly older folks on week days. It's great for larger groups but there is usually a wait. We had reserved ahead for our larger group. I ordered the small pancakes and fresh orange juice, both were delicious and our server was pretty attentive given how busy the place was on a Wednesday at 9:00 AM! The food is good overall, every thing our group ordered was yummy although the larger dishes have huge portion sizes. It's a bit too expensive for every weekend. Although the food is good it's not the type of place that I simply must visit to satisfy a craving.

The original pancake house has an amazing breakfast selection if you're not looking for a Bloody Mary accompaniment. The food is always tasty and well executed. Make sure to try the fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. This place has earned the perma-line outside of the door.

I went there for breakfast on Sunday, they were quite busy so there was a little wait, I had an omelette, which was quite good and a large portion. I went again during the week and had the sour dough French Toast, it was amazing and there bacon is some of the best i have ever eaten. The ambience and nice selection of menu items, makes it my new favorite place to eat.

I hate it when people go on Vacation and go to the same restaurant more then once. To me, there are SO MANY new places to try, it seems like a waste. Well... we went back to OPH. To be honest.. its nothing spectacular and new and amazing. Its a chain! But when you take thick cut bacon and put it IN A PANCAKE, how can I help but keep coming back??! Their apple pancakes are cooked fresh (but actually don't take 45 minutes like they usually do!!), their coffee is solid, the pancakes fluffy and moist, and their omelets packed with cheese and ingredients! And one of the best things: Onions in the hashbrowns (but only if you want them - you can also get without!)!!! The service was also very friendly and fast. The only complaint was I would run out of coffee from time to time, usually unforgivable, however - their food more then makes up for it!!!! Anywhere I go that has an OPH, I will try it out - hopefully they are all as good as this one.

Every time I've come back I haven't been disappointed. I'm pregnant again with a killer craving for pancakes, these totally hit the spot. A new favorite is the 49er flapjacks which are big thin chewy pancakes. My husband usually orders one of the HUGE omelets is always very happy Service is always great, and has been very accommodating to my toddler. Still agree with my previous post about the bacon, not quite all its cracked up to be- just order the damn pancakes

Something about this place just totally makes me feel like I'm in Minnesota - in a down home cozy good feeling. It's a spacious place and I like how the tables seem to be a little further apart from one another so you don't feel like you are on top of people and crammed. We were seated on one side that has a fire place and a bar, and there were a few tvs around with a sports game going on. They had a baby seat contraption that we were able to put the car seat carrier on top of. We had some coffee while debating on what to order because the pancakes seem to be what the place is all about. I appreciated that most of what you order comes with a side of pancakes so you can at least try them. My sister did get the apple pancake and I got the Santa Fe omelette with sausage. Our portions were huge - my sister's apple pancake looked like the size of a bundt cake! My omelette was pretty large, too. I did get to try my sister's apple pancake and it was pretty good as was my omelette. We had to take our food back home because there was just so much! Yummy food for a great price.

I had one of those work days where breakfast just made sense at noon. The Pancake House answered the call. My Arnie Palmer was mixed perfectly, and it quenched my thirst. The bacon was so thick, juicy, and flavorful...it felt like 8 slices instead of 4. It was so good I did a chest punch, and shouted "Yummy!" The eggs were cooked to sunny-side up perfection, and the hashbrowns were so plentiful..it took half the bottle of ketchup to cover. Lastly, the pancakes were so fluffy...and soaked up the gallon of maple syrup I doused them with. They happily expanded in my belly, leaving me with a near-post coital bliss as I paid my bill. Perfect.

Hands down the best pancakes in twin cities. They are perfectly fluffy and they have a large variety of options for breakfast. Gets a little busy on the weekend be ready for a 10-20 minute wait before you can get a table

If you want pancakes, nothing else compares. This is the place to go. The absolute best pancakes. I had tried almost every flavor and an impressed with every one. The bacon is also super super good. The only downside of this place is the price.

get the apple or dutch pancake, you will love it.

What is there not to love about the OPH? The food is out of this world, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is warm and invitng. The only downside is you can expect to wait a little while if you plan on competing with the after church crowd, however the wait is worth it. I always order the Apple Pancake or 49er Flapjacks and always have enough to bring back in a doggy bag for a snack later on.

I was holding off coming back when I heard of the remodeling. It's a beautiful area for groups and a handy counter. There were 2 groups there today, one was the Red Hatted League.Plenty of wait room now, and I'm sure it fills up on weekends. Food was the same. Best tasting pancakes ever for me. The service isn't as upbeat as the Edina location. EP is sunnier, if that matters to you.I believe both are about the same size now. At the host area they have their coffee blend for sale and oph mugs. I actually have the same mugs I bought at Renn. fest years back, exact same style.

I travel to Eden Prairie for business and I ALWAYS go to breakfast at the Pancake House. They have a very nice setting, the food is just outstanding and the coffee tasty. I noticed another reviewer commented on the bacon, it's worth the trip! The expansion, while nice, is very boring. I like the warmth of the wood and booths in the older section. I ding them one star because the wait-staff seems to get overwhelmed sometimes.

Apparently this place is owned by a former Packer, but popular with the Vikings. I didn't know any of that when I went for breakfast, all I knew is that it was tasty and a good way to spend part of a weekend morning. Portions are big, but they offer half-portions on some orders. The carboyhydrate-y items (waffles, pancakes, crepes) are tasty with a variety of toppings (syrup, flavored syrups, butter, fruit). The wait can be long - a lot of people in the waiting area had brought coffee or bought some from the coffeeshop next door.

This is what I look for when I think good pancakes!! I visited this place my last day in Minnesota, just before heading to the airport. We were seated as soon as we walked in. The waiter was very sweet and quick. We were originally worried we would have to rush through our food, but we didn't have to as they were great bringing our food promptly. I went with the buttermilk pancakes, two medium eggs, sausage and hash browns. My pancakes were DE-licious!! They were perfect. My pancakes were fluffy and I just love me some fluffy pancakes!! Derrick ordered pancakes and by the looks of his plate, he liked them too!! I would definitely visit this place again, we got very good service and food was great.

I noticed this place across from the library parking lot a while back and filed it away in my brain. We ALWAYS go to Perkins for breakfast whenever family is in town and I was sick to death of that place. So when the parents came to town to spend Easter weekend with us and wanted to hit up Perkins for breakfast, I suggested we try the Eden Prairie OPH instead. Turns out this chain is their favorite in Madison so it didn't take much convincing. It's in a strip mall but the decor is a pleasant surprise. There's a fireplace and the interior gave me a nice and cozy feeling. It was very clean, too. We arrived at about 8:30 am on Easter and were sat right away. Sinners always beat the church rush! I had the big ol' apple pancake special and everyone at our table helped themselves to it. It was huge...and delicious. I would have given OPH 5 stars but the server screwed up my mom's order (over easy eggs instead of scramble - oh the horror!), therefore flipping my mom out. She was extremely annoyed at the poor server for the rest of the meal (sorry server, love you, mom!) My dad's side order of the OPH special Swedish hashbrowns looked like a grease fest. The poor little shredded potatoes were drowning in oil. Maybe that's how the Sweds like em? I was pleasantly distracted from my mom's crabbiness by some fun people watching. Some nice man appeared to bring a hooker to breakfast after a fun evening! Or maybe hot pants and red stilettos are her Easter best.

Very popular due to a) lack of options in the area b) pretty good food. I can't reconcile the lines that wait for a table with the food. The dishes I have had have all been a bit on the "neutral" side when it comes to flavor. I do love the idea of the place with its old school looking chef on the menu. The coffee was fine. In fact, everything is fine which translates into a decent breakfast but not something that will create a "I can't wait to come back" feeling.

I love this place, although I do not go very often. It has a real small town, home type feel. My favorite pancakes are the blueberry ones and I love the blueberry sauce it comes with. One of my friends always orders the hot chocolate complete with homemade whipped cream. The only negative thing I have to say, is that the restaurant is fairly good sized, but fills up fast on Saturday/Sunday mornings and holidays. If you plan on going at "prime time" on those days don't be surprised if your wait time is over an hour long. Go on off times and off days to get the best experience. They do take reservations in advance, so call ahead if you wish!

The best pancakes ever! I considered myself a pancake lover and this is the best place by far. It gets crowded on the weekend but it is totally worth the wait.

Have loved this family owned chain when I lived out west and was thrilled to find it in the Twin Cities. My family was even more excited when the Eden Prairie location opened last year so we didn't have to drive over to Edina on Sunday mornings. The portions are huge. But that's okay - the stuff freezes great and saves me from figuring out breakfast during the week for at least two days. The garden omelet with swiss-erella is always baked to perfection and we all get the pecan pancakes. It's a little more expensive than your typical IHOP, Denny's, Perkins. But the service, food and overall experience just doesn't compare. OHOP wins every time.

High quality breakfasts. Nice, thick bacon...real cream with the coffee. Sure, it's a little pricey, but worth it. My favorite breakfast hangout and where I usually meet friends.

Still just as good! and they are more than happy to go 50/50 with 2 slices of toast and 2 pancakes when they come as a side. i couldn't decide between the two ... so i got both. the earlier you go the less you wait. 8:30 am on sat, wait 10 min.

Went here for breakfast yesterday and I was appalled by the portion sizes. Holy cow!! I got the cherry crepes, which were delicious, if a little bland. I also got a side of bacon and I got 3 strips of THICK bacon! HUGE! And thankfully, delicious. But you kind of have to be some sort of demon to mess up bacon.

I love the OPH in Wayzata, so I tried the one in Eden Prairie. I will not be going back. The food is, as always, fabulous, but the service sucks. It was not busy at 12:40, but I waited 10 minutes just to be seated because there was nobody at the desk and the waitresses saw me but ignored me. Waitress arrived, and right after I ordered the meal, snatched the menu out of my hands without waiting for me to order a beverage or asking if I wanted one. Food arrived and the waitress did not offer to refill empty water glass. Asked and was told 'I'll be right back to do that' - did not return until end of meal. Didn't come by at any point during the meal to ask how everything was, even though she asked everyone around me. Did not ask if I wanted anything else before bringing me the check. Was left with the impression that since I would be her lowest tipping table by virtue of eating lunch alone, I wasn't worth her time. I'm not going back to this location. It's not worth MY time. I'll go to the one in Wayzata instead, where the service is good.

(5)Sarah U.
pretty basic and classic american breakfast. overall vast menu. pancakes, waffles, sandwiches etc. if you really want some bacon and eggs and someone asking you if you want coffee every 5 minutes, this is the spot. hold's true to its name!
(3)Steve M.
(5)Melissa T.
Great food and service! Worth the wait!
(4)Jeff D.
The Swedish pancakes with fresh strawberries and real whipped cream are great! I also like the baked omelet very much.
(5)Brian F.
(5)Rose R.
(5)Samantha T.
(4)Tom Z.
I great place to eat, good service, great food, and enjoyable experience. We had breakfast my wife and two children, everyone was pleased. Pancakes were perfect!
(5)Krista E.
(5)Kevin U.
Great place for breakfast. Often do meetings there. They also have gluten-free options available which is nice. Just be sure to check their hours as they are not open past lunch
(5)Cecilia S.
(5)Christine H.
Best breakfast in town! The only downside is...it's the best breakfast in town so if you arrive during the busy hours (10-12 on Sat/Sun), expect a long wait. OPH's Strawberry crepes and apple pancake are my favorite...and don't forget their thick cut smoked bacon!
(5)Kuaj K.
(4)Emily G.
(5)Brittanie M.
Huge portions and delicious food for a chain restaurant.
(4)Christopher F.
(4)Steve L.
(3)Les S.
Good breakfast! Wife had a berry waffle and I had cinnamon French toast. Reasonably priced and pretty good food
(4)Ahmad N.
(3)Josh S.
(4)Denny B.

(5)Ajay S.
It has probably the best omelette i have ever eaten. But the only problem is during weekends. It is super busy. The service is extremely poor. We and my wife had once ordered just 2 things and it took almost 45 mins for the order to arrive. But the food is amazing.
(3)Yohann T.
(4)Mark S.
30 to 60 minute wait on Sunday to be seated. Rush, rush, rush. Huge portions. Average food. I don't get the excitement? I could barely walk for 4 hours after gorging myself...
(3)Stefan E.
Delicious, consistent and there's always leftovers. That having been said it doesn't evolve much, gets a little pricey and as everyone knows IT IS PACKED ON WEEKENDS. Still the best breakfast around and a great place to take friends for the gigantic omelettes.
(4)Bhumir P.
You just have to try it! After you go here you can't go back to IHOP or Perkins.

(5)Lauren G.
(5)Kelly B.
(4)Kimi R.
(2)N S.
Amazing food and service!!Best pancakes I have eaten ever.
(5)Erik L.
I love coming to this place after a night of working at target. It's good quality food and the wait staff are great. The only thing I caution is if you come during peak meal times you could be in for a wait especially on weekends but the food is worth it
(5)Chuck S.
Hi think the food is pretty good except I am disappointed that they won't substitute waffles for pancakes
(3)Jodi P.
Great place! Food awesome, waitress fabulous! Reccomend it if your hungry lots of food
(5)Jason B.
Did not disappoint. Great breakfast food and the service was spot on. I would recommend this location to anyone.
(5)Jacque A.
(4)J T.
We have hit this place up for breakfast and lunch a few times. Never seems to disappoint. Huge tasty omelettes; really good hot cakes, the BLT's are a great lunch, hash browns we had were crispy and tasty. Sure we will stop in again for more.
(5)Lina H.
(5)Derek S.
(5)Anthony B.
(4)E Y.
Pancakes are what you want, they are what you need and this place has them! Pretty clean and the coffee is solid.
(3)Mark F.
There is no one with more energy than Ashley, got to love her, got to love this place!
(5)L R.

(4)Sandy G.
(3)Melissa W.
(5)Undercover F.
A bit of a wait but totally worth it! Gluten free pancakes are great and so is the omelet with goat cheese and spinach!
(4)Sam K.

(5)Jessi G.
(5)Julie A.
(5)Z J.
My favorite breakfast place in EP! It is always super busy on the weekends. I think their breakfast food is better than the other stuff. Really good omelets and pancakes.
(4)Ken N.
(5)Tanya H.
Everything is yummy!!! Great breakfast joint. We have never had a bad meal here, we've tried about 1/2 the items on the breakfast menu. The buckwheat pancakes and thick slice bacon are the hubby's favorites! Beware the omelets are HUGE, we have to share those.
(5)John R.
They were very good at getting our group in and serving the lot of us. The food was enjoyed by everyone. This was a very enjoyable stop good food, good service, with good company.
(4)Dan S.
(4)Bun T.
I've been here many times; both in Nevada and Minnesota. The food is always amazing. I love the Dutch baby. The hash browns are also amazing. They are crispy on the outside, and soft in the center. Another huge advantage is fresh squeezed orange juice :)
(5)William G.
(5)David P.
(4)Jana J.
Great service, ask for Ashley! Don't wait in line. Sit at the breakfast bar. Ashley is one of the best waitresses I've ever had!
(5)James V.
Great restaurant, great food. Busy but they manage to seat you quickly so little wait time. A must try place, it's so good.
(5)Anjana A.
(4)Chantal L.
The original pancake house has an amazing breakfast selection if you're not looking for a Bloody Mary accompaniment. The food is always tasty and well executed. Make sure to try the fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. This place has earned the perma-line outside of the door.
(5)William G.
(4)Chuck D.
(5)Ashley Y.
(5)TwinCities D.
Home style cooking at its best!
(4)Chris B.
Great strawberry crepe..... Terrific service....Thank you Zack
(5)Leang E.
(4)Christopher G.
Perfect.
(4)Vita B.
Hands down the best pancakes in twin cities. They are perfectly fluffy and they have a large variety of options for breakfast. Gets a little busy on the weekend be ready for a 10-20 minute wait before you can get a table
(5)Patrick W.
If you want pancakes, nothing else compares. This is the place to go. The absolute best pancakes. I had tried almost every flavor and an impressed with every one. The bacon is also super super good. The only downside of this place is the price.
(5)Jorge G.
get the apple or dutch pancake, you will love it.
(5)Timmy M.
(5)Rhonda G.
(5)Michael T.
(4)kiki d.
(4)Jaire Q.
(5)Courtney W.
(4)Scott J.
(3)Laura B.
(4)Dailyn G.
The best pancakes ever! I considered myself a pancake lover and this is the best place by far. It gets crowded on the weekend but it is totally worth the wait.
(5)Christa K.
(5)David C.
High quality breakfasts. Nice, thick bacon...real cream with the coffee. Sure, it's a little pricey, but worth it. My favorite breakfast hangout and where I usually meet friends.
(4)Nicole P.
Still just as good! and they are more than happy to go 50/50 with 2 slices of toast and 2 pancakes when they come as a side. i couldn't decide between the two ... so i got both. the earlier you go the less you wait. 8:30 am on sat, wait 10 min.
(4)Erin J.
(3)T A.
